Seem to be a bit light on info about these guysaround here.

Rocket Lab's current primary project is Ātea, a suborbital space rocket designed to reach space at a peak altitude of over 150km. Ātea is Te Reo for space.

Ä€tea is intended to offer the New Zealand and international science community an affordable and effective tool for research into areas such as:

micro gravity
solar physics
high altitude atmospheric research
In addition to scientific applications, Ātea offers the public an opportunity to access space for commercial prospects such as:

component testing
space burials
DNA space injection and many others
Ä€tea is a two-stage vehicle currently under design and is powered by a solid fuel first stage and a hybrid second stage. It incorporates a number of innovative areas of technology. The first launch is scheduled for the end of 2008 and three other launches are planned over the subsequent twelve months.

There are a number of projects and teams floating around New Zealand.
