I'm sure most of you have already seen this one, but I thought it deserved posting. The precursor to asteroid mining, anyone? _________________ American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering In Memoriam... Yes I read about this mission a while ago, its very cool what they are trying to do, and then return to earth with samples!!
Will be a big boost for studying asteroids if it is a sucess which I'm sure it will be. Iain |

I personally thought the probe had been lost due to a technical fault. Seems everything has worked out very well.

The deployed mini-probe is lost, but the main body of the spacecraft itself is what touched down IIRC.
