The Indian Space Research Organization has successfully flown a scramjet onboard a sounding rocket, passing for a short period thru the hypersonic flight regime. The engine was not ignited, but was merely mounted on the rocket as a preliminary test, with measurements being taken to prepare for the real flight test.
