New Director for NASA's Exploration Office

As NASA Administrator Michael Griffin named Richard J. Gilbrech as associate administrator for the Exploration Systems Mission Directorate (see http://spacefellowship.com/News/?p=2769) I wonder if someone from the US or closer to NASA knows a bit more about this guy and his ideas.
The former director, Scott Horowitz, seemed very focussed on the current design of the Vision for Space Exploration and didn't accept any changes to the problematic Ares I for example. So it would be interesting to know how the new guy sees that all.
