Sigurd wrote: I can give you the statistics of the xprize blog Thanks, interesting. It is low considering the X Prize has recently been on BBC and CNN, among other top outlets. Oh well, at the end of the day the most important thing is the existence of the X Prize and its sponsors, not how many web hits it gets. you appear as a guest if you're browsing, and that counts to the total.

- http://www.xprize.org/teams/starchaser.html 20 20
- http://club.starchaser.co.uk 9 9 - http://www.kuro5hin.org/story/2004/6/2/14351/94972 8 8 - http://x-prize.blogspot.com 5 5 (Top linking pages)... This is VERY low............ The XPRIZE blog is the 4th best visitors forwarder, and we only have about +- 200 visitors a day.. so I guess the X Prize website has only about 800 visitors a day relative compared to users linked (forum has of course some more) _________________ Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible. - Lord Kelvin, 1892 |

Perhaps more people will be visiting this forum soon. News of John Carmack's thread has made its way to Hobbyspace, so now there is a link from http://www.hobbyspace.com/Links/RLVNews.html which, AFAIK, is a pretty well visited website.

It definately seems that there are already more people coming to the site.
The first few television articles of Scaled's flight have been aired here in the UK (but no primetime yet, only on the 24hr channels so far). I suspect we will be seeing far more people on the site over the next few days. |

That's really good to hear!
Do you know if the launch has been talked about on belgian television yet Sigurd? More importantly has anybody new to this site come because of any tv news or is it still mainly due to the news on the net? Ps: Good work with the Xprize blog site by the way, it's nice to have a single page of X-prize related news. I thought you had other people to help you though, you've single handedly posted everything!? |
