Yesterday in the evning I checked in very short if the problem occurs also using my private PC - the inital page was okay, the list of sections and the list of threads of the Latest News section also obviously.
I have no clue why problems started to occur last week using the PC at work. Perhaps there is something involved that doesn't work well if the page has to pass a network(?). Dipl.-Volkswirt (bdvb) Augustin (Political Economist) |

Ekkehard,
Are you using Opera web browser ? Now I'm able to reproduce the problem, Opera web browser seems to have this problem only on my PC and at Klaus his pc. Let me know in case you use an other browser. _________________ Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible. - Lord Kelvin, 1892 |

Hello, Sigurd,
at work I am using IE 6.0 plus Service Pack 2. And it seems a bit as if it makes a difference if I am logged on on spacefellowship or if I am NOT logged on. Dipl.-Volkswirt (bdvb) Augustin (Political Economist) |

Problem is escalating on the server... It's the processes providing the page views crashing (but not always)... Now also sometimes damaging the MySql database. (data loss is protected, don't worry about that, also with seperated backups).
Been working very long on it now.. but can't find the cause of the crashes.. The datacenter staff are also looking into it. _________________ Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible. - Lord Kelvin, 1892 |

Data center staff is still searching to finding a solution. (they are providing an excellent service, it's just a very annoying problem). Server is experiencing hard to find problem (we still don't know what triggers it), forcing it to reboot itself. This is also why the database is often having difficulties when it was abruptly terminated due to the crash.

We're out of options right now and the server keeps going into kernel panic triggered by this frustrating problem.
After a long 2 day investigation by several people at the datacenter we have come to the conclusion that there is no other option left than to actually restore all the data onto a reinstalled server. Sorry for the inconveniences and the upcoming downtime. _________________ Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible. - Lord Kelvin, 1892 |

Hello, Sigurd,
it seems that the problem has gone - the pages are displayed completely now, no fractions of code are displayed no more, no grey areas to be seen - everything seems to be alright. Dipl.-Volkswirt (bdvb) Augustin (Political Economist) |
