Email spam & phpbb hack

It has come to our attention that our forum was hacked (however we have the latest phpbb version). And that many of you received a spam email from our system. We where able to detect it while it was active, so many of you where spared this spam email, sadly not all of you...

The ensim process was halted, we disabled this website, investigated the cause and made sure that it can't happen again with the same technique. However as PHPBB remains a large security concern, we have to wait until the release of nextgen before we have a better security in place.

We also traced the person back to sweden using his IP address, submitted a complaint to his ISP and submitted the domain name he forwarded for removal.
