This is a very simplified sketch. To begin with, graphene is impermeable to Helium. http://www.lassp.cornell.edu/lassp_data ... 01457b.pdf

It's density is 0,77mg/m^2

Suppose we build a balloon with sheets of graphene, joined thin plastic films (with neglible mass)and He weight is negligible. Samsung recently announced that they can mass produce monolayer graphene. I think this is expensive, but a few years ago, they were doing meter large graphene sheets with 4 atoms wide.

A camera with a weight of ~0.05mg can be attached to the balloon. This alread y exists:

The memory and battery, for just a few photos, can be adapted to fit the weight, I think, if one looks around a bit.

So, making the calculation, assuming a 4 layer graphene and a 0.5g, we have a spherical ballon of

4 meters of radius, where the air density at 100km is

5.6×10^-7 kg/m^3
