Using a gyroscope for directional vertical control of rocket

Would the use of a gyroscope and associated hardware give you quicker
response time for directional control of your rocket and give instantaneous movement of a thruster or would it be able to withstand the g's and be weight prohibitive? |

![]() Do you mean mechanically attaching a gyroscope to the gimballed engine? Or using a gyroscope-based sensor to collect position information that the computer then uses to steer? I think they're already doing the latter, and I'm not sure how the former would compensate for wind drift for example. You'd still need to fuse in position information. Could that be done mechanically?
