Its interesting to realize so much work is going on behind the scenes. I guess its just more openness that makes people discuss Armadillo more. (And I really like the Armadillo gang). So mostly people know Scaled and Armadillo, with Starchaser a distant third.

But there's definately work going on.

Yeps.. and I guess there're even companies (none x prize teams) without websites and not in the US (so no FAA etc) .. we don't even know anything about ...

Did you see their "half size" test rocket!! Woah! Big! Must have made one hell of a noise when it went boom. Did they have any smaller test rockets?

That was a bit tongue-in-cheek wasn't it Sigurd? I tried finding out a bit more info on these guys and there isn't much there ... of course, not being able to find something is no proof of it's non-existence.

Their website is still under construction, so it leaves the impression of a "blue nebula"-type organization. Anyone got any more juice on these guys?

when i first saw the name i didn't recognize it. i guess either they've just started, they're very secretive, or they're full of bs.

The news of the X Prize blog is copied from the official X Prize website, and they are already a while in the race.

They are not like Blue Ridge Nebula.. they are just silent... but they seem to be good.

They don't have a pretty setup, and they admit it on their webpage. Microspace's goal has been to use what they were already working with towards building an xprize vehicle. There isn't any PR, the drawings available are primative, and the news about them is scant. If they actually succeeded, they might have the cheapest way into space. They're viable and they aren't proposing some unobtanium drive to get to 328k. Who knows? After someone bulds the Spirit of St. Louis of space, someone will have to make the DIY ultralight.

To me, though.. all those multiple non-crossfed engines look like a problem, especially with no discernable gimble or other method of control, but again, the drawings are literally sketchy. Like Sigurd said, they are no Blue Ridge.
