 Romanian X-Prize team Posted on: Mon Aug 11, 2003 11:12 pmIt seems that most of the X-Prize "buzz" focuses on a few teams: Scaled Composites, Armadillo, Canadian Arrow, da Vinci, and Starchaser.
But the one team from continental Europe also seems to be making lots of progress - Aeronautics and Cosmonautics Romanian Association (ARCA) . Looking at their website, the latest news is: May 13: ARCA starts building launch pad, to be finished by August. July 31: ARCA successfully tests fuel tanks to be used in the precursor vehicle to the X-Prize entry, built at 1:2 scale. "It will be presented in late august in a complete ready for flight configuration."  |

September 6, 2003 - RAMNICU VALCEA On September 27, 2003, between 17:00 and 20:30, the ARCA team will show in Dragasani (Valcea county) the whole launch system for the new technological demonstrator of the Orizont vehicle. The system includes the demonstrator itself, the launch pad, the fuel transfer facility and other terrestrial infrastructure equipments. The show will take place in front of Dragasani City Hall and it will be open for the public. What do you think about this? |
