Virtually that is
I had to post this here, since I figured many here would be interested. Some of you may have heard of a free space simulator called Orbiter... (http://www.orbitersim.com ) There is now a Space Ship One add on and it is really great and fun to fly... http://orbit.m6.net/v2/read.asp?id=19109 It really makes you aprecciate what Scaled was able to accomplish, it is pretty tough to get above 100 Km. The highest I have gone is 104KM. Enjoy! |

X-Plane can handle Space Ship one too! With demo, you can have 6 minuites of flight with control.
Demo can be found here And the plane can be found here. For some reason, the author added Artificial Stability to it... but it can (and must) be turned off. Actually, I've heard that Scaled's Space Ship One simulator is based on X-Plane... undoubtedly running a custom plug-in for exact performance, but still. |

X-Plane for sure has the better atmospheric flight simulation, since Orbiter is really a space simulator, and only recently have thee been improvements to atmospheric flight. But now matter what sim you use, you really get to see how tough it was to fly this thing. Every small mistake will result in a lower apogee.

Thank you for letting me know about that addon. I can't quite get past 85 km. Really cool though.
