Just thought, when the sun is particularly active, the Earths atmosphere swells, and any debris on a low enough orbit is slowed, and ends up burning up. Is there anyway we could reproduce this in some way? I.e dump a load of gas (which ever you like) that would produce drag on any debris and bring it down?

To add an idea of infrastructural nature - by magnets and other tools it might be possible to remove space junk from a certain section of the orbits a vehicle has to pass to reach its destination. There may be several sections.
Then the spacecraft itself or the satellites and objects to be placed into these sections only needs a few self-protection-equipment yet. The "something else" then perhaps might include things until now not considered because of their small size - what might it be? Dipl.-Volkswirt (bdvb) Augustin (Political Economist) |
