SPace multiplier effect

If I recall correctly, its pretty well established that for every manufacturing job created, a number of other jobs are created - does anyone know what those numbers are, and if a similiar analysis has been looked at for an astronaut?

Also, I know some years ago, it was stated that for every dollar the US invested in space, the return rate was seven - does anyone know whether thats still true, and where I could get the original analysis or an updated analysis that has looked at that?
