Hi,

We are going to the Moon.....to stay! Anyone who wants to go can go. This is an open call for all that wish to get involved.

The plan is nothing really new except that we will be practical, and persistent. The knowledge and technology needed already exist, and we have the direction and willingness to commit and stick to it, do you?

Oh yeah.....I guess the only question to solve is: "NO BUCKS no Buck Rogers!"

Hi,

1. Start a TV show: "Rocketeers - From the Earth to the Moon, Mars, and Beyond!"

2. Begin seeking advertisement and investors.

Hi,

Quote:
3. Get rich?

Would be nice but not likely, self sustaining, for the public good.

Quote:
1. Go to Luna. 2. ???? 3. Profit!

1. Get in and out of orbit.
2. What questions we have all the answers to all the questions.
3. Not going to be much, tax exempt and ability return, showing it can be done...business will then make the profit.

DONE! The Knowledge and Technology are know, it is just getting the direction, focus, and monies.

On a side note: The "Governments Attitude is going to have to be changed to "A Servant of ALL the People!" for any of this to work. NASA included!

Good to know you've already developed rocketry expertise. For some reason I've never heard of your accomplishments in rocketry. Maybe you can bring us up to speed on what you've done. What's the highest altitude that you've reached. What kind of rockets do you fly -- solids, hybrids or liquid fuel? What kind of payloads have you launched?

Hi,

I have been doing personal and private space (suborbital) ventures for over 40 years, since Apollo.

To go any further will have to be public and need others.

I have gone suborbital.

I fly the type of propulsion the project requires, I fly all of them.

I have launched human occupant payloads.

And all this means is I know how to go real high, and have gone and safely returned.

Orbital flight is the next level, and going to the moon is the next level after that. The knowledge and technology is known (we went to the moon in the 60's) now it is time to go back.

"We" can do it! But, like anything we will see.....the proof is in the safe landing!

I would suggest a development plan to start with. What needs to be landed, how much it will cost to develop (much can be off the shelf - Bigelow Habs, for example - but you're going to need mining equipment capable of breaking up rock hard ice in cryogenic temperatures, fuel production systems, new rockets to ferry the fuel, depots to store the fuel...), how much launch will cost, what you expect to make (tourism, moon rock sales [perhaps for jewelry], fuel sales), whether this is enough to make a return on investment (even if you could do it as a non profit, you still need to cover your costs...)...

Or, develop cheap access to space, and then everything will fall into place?

Hi,

Transformer, YES to everything you are saying! But, we are adding this also since not "everyone on the earth will want to go", we are beginning the development of an ARC - Aerospace Research Center, where we can develop all the necessary items needed to go into space. Also, a virtual universe so people can explore at home, before they go to the ARC to simulate going into space, as we begin to go into space.

Ah yes....the holy moly grail to space, unfortunately "cheap" access to space will never happen, they holy grail to cost is $10,000.00 for a week in orbit, or 3 days on the moon.....that is "if" we can solve all the fighting on earth, get everyone on the same page, and agree on a fully reusable aerospace vehicle that will take us into and out of space like a airliner.

We can do it......or at least get on the road to it in our lifetime!

Transformer? :?

It depends on what you mean by cheap access to space. $10k to go into orbit might mean $30-40k transport costs to emigrate to another planet (assuming the infrastructure is in place) and of course the money to purchase somewhere to live ($? - maybe $200k?), with the continuing cost of life support ($10k/year?) as well...

Perhaps a price tag of $250k/person is what can be expected *if* we have prices to orbit in the range of $20/kg, which is doable I think, but probably will be around sometime in the 30s. Near term? Perhaps closer to $400k/person. That's for leasing an apartment outright, if you rent it will be less. These prices will come down over time, but it will be a while before someone can empty out their meager savings and purchase a ticket...

The people I have in mind for the first people who will purchase Lunar apartments are successful artists and authors, people whose work doesn't require them to be physically present on Terra, and also wealthy retirees (which will spur the development of the Lunar medical industry...). How hairdressers and other such workers will afford to get there... though whoever gets there will be able to charge quite a bit...

Not likely. The first people "living on the Moon" will be governmental and corporate employees who don't have to worry about the cost of the ticket there or rent. It will be a long time before "Lunar retirement homes" open for business. Even the space tourism line of thought business model really isn't panning out. Yeah there is lots of notional interest, but the up-front costs and liability issues are so high that its a big impediment and not likely to produce the first (or second or...) commercial use of space and beyond LEO.

That (safety and CYA) is proving to be the biggest impediment to commercial manned space activity. Even when the money is there, feet get dragged because no one wants to be liable if someone gets hurt. Which scares the money away. Look at Virgin Galactic, Golden Spike, and all the other enterprises that never even got that far. We haven't even summoned the resources to land a bunch of RC rovers on the Moon for Google to sell to tele-tourists.

Hi,

TERRAFORMER! I am sorry! I had a brain fluff!

Nope, you are talking WAY down the road, the holy grail is $10,000.00 for a week in space, and yes it does mean the infrastructures are already there.

But this is the problem we face: How do we get from here to there, which I don't forsee a way unless we have a change of the beliefs and ways on earth.

JAMESG

Your right in what you say.....and that is the problem! Government, Commercial, Military, Rich, space does not want "the people" to have access to space, because they have enough trouble controlling us on Earth.

Virgin Galactic will make it, because it is a practical venture, and there are no others that are. None of the Google entries are practical or real that is why they haven't attracted the money.

The saying No Bucks for BS! Rules!

Hi,

JAMESG

On of our steps to get to the moon is to send 4 camera rovers to be remotely operated. The competition is still open to finalize the design and build 3 of the rovers.

VG is an exercise in corporate publicity. The Google LXP is a bad joke. You would spend an order of magnitude more that the prize to "win" it, and then sign over your rights to profit from it afterwards.
