Guys
I am trying to help fund my Astronomy hobby by selling some of my prints on shirts and other items. I have bought the URL http://www.fullmoonclothing.com I have also started selling some items cheap on ebay to see how much trade I get from the US and Canada! I have a cafepress page and also a zazzle page and have sold between 50 and 100 items this year - Pre Full Moon Clothing. As you are all space bofs like me, I need your help! If you were buying Space related shirts what would you like to see? Would you like: -Humour -High res photos -New Space Ideas? Perhaps I could work to design things with other organisations and split the money? Basically, "help me" haha. Any advice or ideas would be great, or any designs you have or things that might sell! Thanks for reading Links for reference: http://zazzle.co.uk/robsastrophotography http://www.cafepress.com/astroimage http://fullmoonclothing.com/ ![]() |

Off the top of my head:
See if there are any space related museums or planetariums that would be interested in carrying your products, maybe with your photos and their logos/branding. Think outside of the usual swag box, and look into doing something other that the usual silk-screened t-shirts. Like taking some of your shots of galaxies, star fields, or the Moon and using them as a texture/ print for all of the fabric of clothing articles (shirts, skirts, ties, etc.). Link up with a aspiring fashion designer who knows the industry and see if you can sell the concept to a design house or label. Royalties bab-ie! |

Another random idea: use a starfield or galaxy photograph as a gobo in a small (LED? Would reduce heat issues) spotlight (you'd sell a unit consisting of the spot and gobo already combined). Plug spot in wall socket, aim at ceiling, turn off the lights, and enjoy the starry skies... Optionally, pre-deform the image so that projecting it onto the ceiling from a position near the wall gets the correct result

Rob,
I'm the founder of International Musicians In Space Society (IMISS Earth). We promote live music from the International Space Station, spacecraft, and eventually the Moon Base. We also do concerts of space music terrestrially while educationg the public about current space activities. We have a history and recently performed Planet Nestor in concert. We have a history of performing at the Miami Science Museum Planetarium, etc. Sarah Brighton (singer from Cats, etc.) is planning on going up to the ISS next year and wants to sing live there in a concert broadcast around Earth! I have a couple shirts that I had embroidered with... International Musicians In Space Society What do you think? |

Another idea might be to put space related quotes, sayings or jokes on them. Like "I got pulled over for doing the speed of light in a speed of sound zone but didn't hear the siren till after I stopped." ......maybe even come up with some funny jokes too.
Also interesting facts about the object. I.E. Alpha Centauri: Binary star system 4.1 light years from Earth Mass of larger star Mass of smaller star Number of know planets Discovered by .... Some quotes I believe are considered public domain you would want to check to make sure your not using copywritten material. I don't know much about that but maybe if you just use quotes and give credit to the person quoted you'd be ok. "we are all starr stuff." Carl Sagan. |

Put this on hold for a bit but back now to put some of your ideas into action!
Sold 90 items now so would be great to break 100 by the end of the year! Thanks again Rob ![]() |

How about pictures or perhaps blueprint like drawings of launch vehicles, existing, as well as planned/imagined (F9, FH, Saturn V, Skylon) Perhaps these ideas have already been realized? If so, please post a link

He would have to pay licenses, royalties, etc. to the owners of those vehicles. NASA stuff is probably public domain, but he'd either have to draw them himself or pay someone to do it.
Luckily no one has trademarked the Moon and stars (yet). |

Idea for store. probably too complicated like everything I think about...
Space Fellow Ship App, with store, that has the ability to upload photos and videos to a specific thread, with location and orientation if people want,so people working on real rockets etc can document for themselves what they are doing, and us, will have more pictures and what not, and it could have links to the forum and store built in, like facebooks app but much less complicated. We could all post things to sell, and have seller ratings, etc.... this could increase traffic to the site, and store, and give us all more eye candy, and you could run google ads + your own Space related ads, We could make out own documentaries and have some one go interview people, if we get enough traffic here, _________________ Let not the bindings of society hold you back from improving it.... the masses follow where the bold explore. |
