Team Phoenicia is proud to announce our second Nanosatellite Launcher Challenge seminar. We conducted the first Nanosat Launcher Challenge Seminar at Techshop - Menlo Park on November 7th, 2010 (there is extensive video on our youtube channel). The second seminar will take place at both TechShop and our new facility, The Shipyard, on November 12th and 13th, 2011 in Menlo Park, CA, USA.
The first seminar was a great success, but could be improved upon. This will be upgraded to a two day event based on the feedback that we have received. Food and drink will be provided. More time will be allotted for critical topics. The first day will largely cover the same ground as the first nanosat launcher challenge seminar, but the rules discussion will be much longer. We hope to have more potential launch sites present as well. The second day will be largely dedicated to the teams and their potential suppliers. Our hope is that we can hope promote NewSpace as an industry rather than just individuals teams competing for the prize. A seminar with a narrow focus on the Nanosat Launcher Challenge will further this by keeping attendees looking at their own needs and suppliers will be paying attention to what they can provide specifically to building small launchers. This seems lost in a larger, broad based conference. |

We have updated the agenda.
We have added the spaceports that have committed to attending so far. We have added the names of the folks that are sitting on the panel for advice for the teams to get funded. We have expanded the number of presentations on the nanosat market. FWIW, we have the name of the allied org even if we are not yet allowed to reveal it just yet. |

We have added a parallel, free and open to the public track for the nanosat launcher challenge seminar. This will be covering the other centennial challenges besides the NLC. The allied orgs for the Night Rover, Beam Power, and Sample Return Robot will be presenting about their respective challenges and their associated rules. NASA will also present on the past, present and future of the Centennial Challenges.
This will happen at the Techshop Menlo Park conference room between 11 am and 6 pm at 120 Independence Dr, Menlo Park, CA. Agenda for the free track: http://teamphoenicia.blogspot.com/2011/ ... minar.html |
