Spaceflightnow.com has done some business selling membership to their website to access video of launches. Can Xprize groups cash in on this? I would definately pay to see a launch attempt.

I'd pay because I have my doubts about whether it would be on the news here. I've been surprised by the good quality of reporting from time to time, but you can never be sure.

Hell, no! I ain't payin' for something that'll be put on the news eventually -- or on the web for free by some dude with a digital camcorder. Besides, the X Cup will be a major televised event -- if these guys are bright enough to make a deal with a channel such as Speed, Spike, Discovery, or some such. The Discovery Wings channel would be ideal, but it reaches a much more limited audience.

I would pay good money for a high-res DVD.
There is no excuse fo not having proper HD cams aboard the winning entry. Why isn't discovery or CNN streaming the winning flight live? _________________ What goes up better doggone well stay up! - Morgan Gravitronics, Company Slogan. |

cnn better have it live, and i hope the local stations have it too. i'm going to be in camp on the 21st, so it'll be a little tough for me to see it, but i'll manage.

I can think of a couple of good reasons for not having HD cameras aboard...
Say about 150,000 good reasons per camera. However JVC just launched a new handheld pro HD camera for about $4K. These should be plastered everywhere. _________________ What goes up better doggone well stay up! - Morgan Gravitronics, Company Slogan. |
