Post so many rockets! not enough people   Posted on: Wed Feb 04, 2004 3:50 pm
ive been reading a lot lately about satelite launches, and they are almost taken for granted now that they getup n do the job. im no expert but im guessing there must be hundreds of types of these rockets, well how comw then that not one of these companies has thought about making them with a pod on top to carry humans up there for a short amount of time before burning back through. It cant possibly be too much harder? and could an xprize member get hold of one of these rockets and then adapt it to get themselfs into space?

Some of the rocket may have enough power to do it but at this time they may not see enough of an industry to make the effort and investment in a vehicle at this time.

For the second question.
You would not make the requirements for the X-Prize if you used a throwaway rocket.
