Interorbital Systems is planning to launch its Neutrino sounding rocket off the Californian coast this September 15.
The Neutrino rocket is intended to test "guidance hardware, the ocean recovery hardware, and the telemetry hardware" for the follow-on X PRIZE vehicle, the Solaris X. According to Interorbital's website, this launch "could be the first privately-funded, commercial sector rocket to reach space!" I don't think Interorbital will win the X PRIZE, but I wish them the best of luck nontheless. |
